4-11 August Week of Commemoration

July 25, 2014 No Comments by Sally Robinson

The country will be commemorating the 100th anniversary of the First World War. Sir Edward Grey, Foreign Secretary at the time, uttered these words on the eve of Britain officially entering WW1

“The lamps are going out all over Europe, we shall not see them lit again in our lifetime.“

Throughout the next four years but especially during the period 4 to 11 August 2014 there will be events and acts of remembrance taking place. If you wish to find out more about what is going on you can go to –
